Nick,
There seems to be quite a few instances of people who have posted on here without registering with the forum. Are we able to do anything about this?
There should be some compulsion for a person to register before they can make a post.

thats very true, when someone is posting with out registering, they are required to enter a pass phrase, and that is supposed to protect us against bots. its a randon work or pair of words that is pretty useful. I will look into this. thank you dave for bringing it to my attention

ok, this is now set to "guests must sign in before posting" I do hate it when people hide behind guest status.

there seems to be a drawback to this guest sign up setting, guests cant even see the forum without registering, I am not sure this is good or bad, I will do a poll and see what peopl think
I cant see where there is a setting for guest view and not post its just guest guests get nothing with out signing in

hmmmm. Its not so much to stop people viewing, but it does encourage membership to the forum if people have to register before they can make a post. It would be nice if people could view the forum (particularly our club members), and decide that it may be an "online community" that they would enjoy belonging to. It also gives the administrators some sense of control re misuse of the forum should individuals decide to misbehave. I'm sure though that Mana members at least would not do so. However, there are individuals out there, not necessarily associated to the archery community who would!
