Just had a go at archery on the latest Wii Sports game (Wii Sports Resort - comes complete with an improved motion sensor thingy which attaches to the Wii remote). Of course, there's nothing quite like the real thing, but it's still heaps of fun; you have to go through all the motions, such as setting your stance, drawing the bow (which you can only hold at full draw for so long), reading the wind etc... the main drawback that I can see is that you can only shoot right handed (apparently). Will be able to supply more details once I've finished the review, but this one looks like a winner.

Somehow I don't think we could pass it off as a 'training tool'... nice thought though. Oh, and you can shoot left handed by switching the Wii remote (the bow) to your right hand and the nunchuck controller (the string) to your left. This works just fine... although the onscreen archer doesn't change positions, which looks plain weird.
