Hi! My husband and I are in the process of moving to Wellington, and we're keen to join an archery club in the area. Would it be possible to come along to your ground on the weekend of the 8th/9th July and have a look? Bearing in mind it's winter, I thought I'd best check if there will there be anyone around that weekend, and if there is, would it be possible for us to have a shoot? I'm an experienced target archer and member of Archery NZ (we're originally from the UK), and my husband Sean also shoots a little; both of us are recurve. If anyone could let me know, that would be great - I'm still currently based in Auckland, so will need to make provision to bring my bow down with me if it turns out there is an opportunity for us to shoot. Cheers, Gina

hi Gina, welcome! you are most definatly welcome!
we normally are there from about 9:30-12:30. yes its winter but we have some very finatical archers here at mana and they are a hardy lot!
cool! more recurves! we will push those darn pesky compounders out yet ;D
if you come by just yell "Graeme!" and there will be about 4 or 5 that turn around, most of the are coaches or committee members so you will have a good chance to get one of them.
I look forward to meeting you and your husband.
Nick

Nice pics... although I reckon it's false advertising. We haven't seen much of that big yellow thing in the sky lately, and the archers will usually be leaning one way or the other (depending on which way the wind is blowing)!

Hey everyone! Wow what a great response Can't wait to get down there and shout Graeme! We'll see you on the 11th July then. Will do our best to bring the bows down from Auckland, pending luggage restrictions and all that. Looking forward to experiencing some Wellington weather! Gina and Sean

It's so true! A friend asked me earlier this evening if I'd been skiing - apparently the windburn hasn't worn off yet! Can't wait for the next shoot - what will drop out of the sky next time???!
