Good to see 4 juniors having a go at the year's first Indoor JAMA shoot on Tuesday night! Next session is on 19th May from 6.00 pm (I have decided to run them fortnightly). You can shoot with the seniors at 7.00 pm if you prefer, but there's more room on the line at the earlier time. The shoot for May is Portsmouth 1, which is 36 arrows on a 60cm face (6 practice arrows first); 10 zone scoring. Distance is 14m for U12s and 18m for U14-U18. Anyone can try the JAMA shoots, but if you want to compete against juniors from other clubs you need to be a member of ANZ. There are application forms in the club house - also available from the ANZ website.

Yep... and it won't cost you any extra, either! That first hour is supposed to be for the JAMA shoot, but as long as you submit at least one score each month I don't really mind if you want to use that hour for practice or warm up.

It's not too late to have a crack at the JAMA postal for June: last shoot for the month is on Tuesday, 30th... the Chicago round (40cm face, 36 arrows, 5 zone scoring).
Next month's shoot will be Portsmouth 2 (60cm face, 36 arrows, 5 zone scoring).
Distances are age dependent: U18/U16/U14 shoot at 18m and U12 shoot at 14m.

Well done to all three of our juniors who participated in the JAMA postal last month (you know who you are). All of you achieved pin scores and first or second placings in your respective divisions... you rock! ;D
The next JAMA shoot at Indoor will be on 28th July, from 6.00 pm at the Kennel Club.

Yeah, sorry 'bout that. We could've had all firsts but I had to let everyone down.

Next JAMA shoot is on 11th August, 6.00 pm at the kennel club. The round for the month is:
Chicago (40cm face, 36 arrows, 5 zone scoring). Pin score for recurve is 250.
There are only 4 more indoor sessions before we get back into the outdoor shoots, so hang in there!

Some fantastic results from July's postal: all three of our participating JAMA archers placed first in their respective divisions! Well done, guys... we're proud of you. ;D
Next indoor session is on Tuesday, 25th August (usual time and location). Look forward to seeing you there...

I'm afraid I won't be able to be there. Parents are going to South Africa, so I have to board for two and a half weeks.

BenDy, if you want to get in another JAMA shoot before the end of the month, you are welcome to do so outdoors on a club day (but not tomorrow 'cos we're having a working bee); or on Sunday 23rd or Sunday 30th. Weather permitting I will be shooting, and can sign off your score sheet. Just let me know ahead of time so I can dig out the correct size target face.

The next JAMA shoot is on Tuesday, 9th September from 6.00 pm at the kennel club. Only one more indoor JAMA session after this one! September's round is a Portsmouth 1: 36 arrows @ 18m (U14-U18) or 14m (U12), on a 60cm face, 10 zone scoring, 6 practice arrows first. Pinscore: 280 (recurve) 310 (compound) BenDy, I know you are unable to make it to Indoor this week, so feel free to do the shoot outdoors on a club day - or even tomorrow, if you're out that way. A few of us will be taking advantage of the nice weather. PS: I've officially handed over JAMA responsibilities to Graeme, so this will be the last post from me regarding JAMA stuff. He'll be chasing you for your scores etc. from now on...
