...so I'm having a pretty normal day so far - a bit busier than usual but I figured there's time to squeeze in a run before my next appointment. On arriving home I discovered the 'spare key' I'd grabbed off the key ring didn't in fact fit any of our doors... The scary thing is, it took only 5 minutes to gain entry - with a minimum of effort and without damaging any doors or windows. What a way to highlight how complacent we've become about our home security! Anyway, I'm off to Mitre 10 to fix that particular loophole... I'm sure no amount of security measures will prevent a determined burglar from breaking in, but we can at least make it as much of a challenge as possible!

I try not to make a habit of locking myself out... it just seems to happen from time to time. Let's just say the emergency spare key I'd given to a nearby friend has only been required once or twice.... well, maybe three or four times... but definitely no more than five.
