What do you guys think about holding the occasional round robin matchplay at Indoor? I've just received the rules and score card from the national JAMA convener, and I reckon it would be good fun (not to mention a refreshing change from the usual fare). Matches consist of 3 x 3 arrow ends, so they're quick to run. After shooting one match against each archer you simply add up your points (2 for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss), and the one with the most points at the end of the evening gets major bragging rights... until next time. Of course, there would probably have to be some kind of minor handicap for any compounders... a blob of blu-tack in the peep sight should do it.

I'll have a word with the Indoor Committee... even if they're not keen we could always run a mini version during - or after a JAMA shoot (assuming it's just between the three regulars I'm happy to make up the numbers so we don't have to include byes). It should take all of 30 minutes...

It's all on, folks: we'll have a go at round robin matchplay this coming Tuesday (1st September), at the Kennel Club. Tony's working on a handicap system so we can have a level playing field amongst juniors, seniors, recurve & compound. Please try to be on time - we'll aim to start by 7.30 p.m. at the latest, which will give everyone time to set up and warm up. Should be fun!

Should be good fun. a good handicap could be to only shoot half the arrows we do.. if Im shooting against tony though he should only be allowed 1 arrow to my 3 ;D

Well, be sure to have lots of fun without me. Once again I won't be able to show.

You can kick our butts next time, BenDy... this one's a practice run (we have to get the handicaps sorted out etc.). I expect we'll do it again - hopefully in the not-too-distant future.

Great night last night at indoor with the round robin shoot. although Im not sure about the handicaps, tony should still have been a scratch handicap. Not too sure about the next one as I can see my handicap getting higher It was a lot of fun and a good lot of friendly rivalry into it. well done for organising it

Revised handicaps (for those who were there last Tuesday): Gordon: 16 Tuari: 28 Micky: 6 Tara: 13 Tony: 3 Graeme W: 10 (although this may change if you return to recurve!) Sean: 36 Graham P: 22 Alfie: 20 I've updated the score sheet layout to accommodate our handicap system... looking forward to trying it again soon. We'll probably have to turn up a little earlier though - say, 6.45 for a 7.00 start.

cough splutter...'10'. Thats not right. surely, you missed an extra '0' If I return to recurve how much will my handicap increase. come on, make it worth going back from the DARK side and how come your on 6 young lady?? you should be a lot lower than that and Tara lower as well:'(
